Campus Experience questions? We got you!

  • What is Campus Experience, powered by Cribl University?

The Campus Experience, powered by Cribl University, is a dedicated in-person training day, taking place the first day of CriblCon, designed to provide hands-on learning opportunities and deep dives into Cribl products and best practices. It's geared towards both new and experienced Cribl users looking to enhance their skills. This is a paid addition to your conference fee, and it takes place on Monday, September 28, 2026.

  • Who should attend the Campus Experience?

The Campus Experience is ideal for IT professionals, data engineers, security analysts, and anyone interested in learning more about Cribl Stream, Edge, Search, and Lake. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced user, there's something for you.

  • I'm interested in the Campus Experience, but I'm not sure if my Cribl skill level is appropriate. How will the training be structured?

The Campus Experience will offer expert led-sessions on a variety of topics, broken into three distinct training tracks to cater to different levels of Cribl expertise:

    • Cribl Core: Perfect for beginners and those new to the ecosystem who want to build a solid foundation. Core learners either haven’t yet explored the Cribl Certified User curriculum or have only recently completed it. But we highly recommend arriving with your User certification finished to get a head start.
    • Cribl Advanced: Designed for more experienced data professionals who are already familiar with the platform and ready to level up their skills. Advanced learners are ready for Level 2 Admin training or those who have recently cleared their Admin certifications. This track focuses on managing environments effectively.
    • Cribl Expert: A deep-dive experience for power users. This track is for those who want to move at an accelerated pace and tackle complex configurations, advanced troubleshooting, and high-level system optimization. Having your CC Engineer certification is highly recommended to ensure you can keep up with the deep-dive configurations and complex troubleshooting.

You can choose the track that best suits your current skill level and professional goals. Detailed session agendas will be available closer to the event.

  • What will be covered in Cribl Core courses?

It will cover foundational concepts, basic configurations, and essential workflows, providing a solid understanding of Cribl products and their capabilities. If you're just starting your Cribl journey or want to solidify your fundamentals, Cribl Core is the right choice.

  • What will be covered in the Cribl Advanced courses?

The Cribl Advanced track will delve into more complex administrative topics, advanced configurations, and real-world use cases. Expect deep dives into specific functionalities, best practices, and optimization techniques. If you possess a solid foundational knowledge of Cribl and are looking to expand your expertise, Cribl Advanced is the track for you.

  • What will be covered in Cribl Expert courses?

The Cribl Expert track is a high-velocity, hands-on experience focused on solving complex data management problems with little to no guidance. You will troubleshoot broken environments and unique, real-world scenarios that require blending products under pressure. Each challenge concludes with a peer-led roundtable to discuss architecture, optimization choices, and expert-level fixes.

  • How is the Campus Experience different from other CriblCon learning sessions?

Campus Experience courses are designed to be a more classroom-style, structured learning environment where expert instructors guide you through key concepts, best practices, and real-world scenarios. While hands-on elements may be incorporated, the emphasis is on building a strong foundational understanding of the subject matter through direct instruction and interactive discussions. This format allows for broader coverage of topics and provides a great opportunity to ask questions and engage with instructors and peers.

  • Will there be hands-on labs?

Yes. Hands-on practice is a core component of the Campus Experience, though the format varies by track:

    • Core & Advanced Tracks: These sessions incorporate targeted hands-on elements, such as short exercises and practical demonstrations, designed to reinforce key concepts as they are taught.
    • Expert Track: This track features intensive, multi-hour lab exercises focused on solving complex scenarios. These sessions conclude with peer and instructor roundtable.

  • What is the goal of the Campus Experience?

The goal of the Campus Experience is to provide a solid foundation of knowledge and practical skills that you can apply immediately after the conference. Beyond the technical curriculum, this is a collaborative environment designed for high-level interaction. You won't just be behind a computer; you’ll be working directly with Cribl instructors and your peers to solve challenges, exchange strategies, and build a professional network of fellow data experts.

  • Are there limited spaces in the three training tracks?

Yes, space is limited to 50 learners in each track. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and will not be confirmed until paid in full. We encourage you to register early to secure your spot in your preferred track, as we anticipate them filling up quickly. Once a track reaches capacity, registration for that specific track will be closed.

  • Is there an additional cost for the Campus Experience?

Yes, the Campus Experience at CriblCon 26 is an additional $250. Why? Because venues and caterers don’t run on good vibes alone and have this weird obsession with getting paid. It's a small price to pay for top-notch training, delicious food, and the chance to learn from the best, in-person.

  • What are the prerequisites for attending the Campus Experience?

Some familiarity with data concepts and command-line interfaces is helpful.

We do not require valid Cribl Certified credentials to attend both of the Campus Experience tracks HOWEVER it is strongly recommended you obtain the appropriate credentials for each track:

    • Cribl Advanced recommended prerequisites: Cribl Certified Admin - Stream, Cribl Certified Admin Edge
    • Cribl Expert recommended prerequisite: Cribl Certified Engineer

  • I've already registered and paid for the event, but I didn't sign up for the Campus Experience. Can I add it now?

Absolutely! You can return to the registration site, log in with your username and password, and modify your existing registration to include the Campus Experience. You'll be able to select it and complete the additional payment. As long as there's still space available in the class, you can add it to your registration even after your initial signup.

  • Do I need to bring my own laptop for the Campus Experience?

Information about laptop requirements for hands-on labs will be provided closer to the event. While a laptop is not needed for the entirety of the sessions, there will be cloud-based practice exercises that will need to be deployed on your own device. Check the detailed schedule and equipment requirements when they become available.

  • Where will the Campus Experience sessions be held?

Campus Experience sessions will be held in dedicated rooms at the CriblCon 26 venue the on DAY ONE of CriblCon on Monday, September 28th. Specific room assignments will be listed in the conference agenda closer to the event, and signage will guide you to where you need to be.

  • What should I wear to the Campus Experience?

Wear whatever makes you feel most “data-driven.” A t-shirt with a binary code design? Perfect. A hoodie with a diagram of a telemetry pipeline? Even better. Really cool pajamas with a Cribl logo on them? Sure, why not... Whatever you’re comfy in is recommended.

  • What if I need help during a practice exercise?

Instructors and assistants will be available during the classes to provide guidance and support.

  • Will there be opportunities to network with other attendees during the Campus Experience?

Yes, definitely. You’ll have plenty of opportunity to mingle with fellow data enthusiasts and Cribl experts. This is your chance to finally ask someone, in person, “So, about that regex…” without feeling judged.

  • Will the Campus Experience sessions be recorded?

We will not be recording the Campus Experience training sessions. You will, however, be able to find similar content and courses within the Cribl University catalog.

Plus, you’ll walk away with some serious data knowledge and—more than likely—some exclusive Cribl swag.
